Personal Artwork for my great nephew, born in 2007.

”Hopes and dreams led by the heart...”

Created for my great-nephew born in 2007, ‘Peaceful Warrior’
represents the hopes and dreams of my niece’s new-born baby boy - Will. The form evokes the strength and power of bird’s flight, led by the heart. The materials used represent input from 3 generations of family: the head is composed of a Native American axe-head and arrow-heads found on my Grandparents’ farm located in New Jersey – just a few miles away from where Will was born; the chest and wings are formed using wrought iron sleigh runners found on my parents’ property in New Hampshire and the black beach pebbles were found on a beach located on the Beaufort Sea – Arctic Ocean collected by myself. Tile supplied by Santa Theresa Tile Works. Budget: A Gift for Will Bradica

- my new-born great nephew.
