Dr. Merle Jensen, Research Horticulturist with the Environmental
Research laboratory was contracted to design and develop the
prototype greenhouse growing systems for the ‘Futuristic’ Biome
of the Land Pavilion, EPCOT, Florida.
Unique Features:
Controlled Environmental Growing Systems, Vertical Growing Systems, Hydroponics, Aeroponics and Sand-Culture Agriculture.
Responsibilities:
As an assistant to Dr. Jensen, responsibilities included the cultivation of a wide variety of food crops and management of all aspects of greenhouse production: aeroponic growing systems, hydroponic growing systems, sand culture, crop variety trials, inter-cropping schemes, pest and pathogen control, seeding, transplanting and harvesting schedules and data collection.
